Do I need plans before you can price my job?

Yes. We work from existing architectural drawings and generally take projects on once planning and drawings are in place. Send them over and we'll price the build.

Is the site visit and quote free?

Yes. Initial site visits and quotes are free of charge.

Do you work with my architect and structural engineer?

Regularly. We work alongside client architects and structural engineers, and liaise directly with Building Control officers on site throughout the build.

Can you do the kitchen, bathroom and decorating too?

We can price the full internal fit-out. Our focus is the structural shell, so if you'd rather use your own finishing trades, we'll hand over at the watertight shell stage.

Is your work guaranteed?

All completed work is covered by a 1-year indemnity-backed workmanship guarantee. We also hold business and public liability insurance.

JB Carpentry and Building Ltd is a South Devon contractor based on Newton Road in Torquay. Director Jake Brown brings 18 years of hands-on trade experience and is City & Guilds qualified in bricklaying and carpentry. The company has been trading for over 11 years.

A core in-house team of six handles groundworks, brickwork, blockwork and structural carpentry. For larger builds, that grows to as many as 15 with long-standing subcontractors, while plumbing, electrics and plastering are delivered by vetted specialists working through the company.

The result is one point of contact, strict quality control and a straightforward, well-managed build.
